mmh, is the blue giraffe a new decor element..? wasn't there when I visited Place des Vosges in May... :)
but then again, with all the art galleries under the arches... I have lots of photos of this place, most of them on Ilford film, and always the play with light and shadows, like here, has a major role.
you have indeed chosen a classic tilt, a diagonal cut that polarizes the two zones and leads the eye along this elegant gallery. it reminds me of the compositions assignments we used to get from our photography teacher :)

really ? I was a bit joking when I used the word "classic" but if your photography teacher could say it, I confirm the use of the word so

ah yes, he was old school, golden rule of 3:2 ratio, leading lines from bottom left to top right or viceversa, etc. he also had a liking for burning and dodging in the darkroom, one day he gives me this funny butterfly-looking thing and says "dodge the rooftops and burn the river" and I go "???" - I still have that photo I developed and printed and dodged and burned
![]() I guess I transferred all that into my digital darkroom, ahahaha... c. |

rules ... I don't really like rules and not only in photography. Some say that rules have to be broken
