Great dcawker 2008-02-25 7:53

Hi Alvin! Glad that we were side-by-side with the posts the other night.. weird coincidence! (I chucked my photo though - it needed a bit more work). Anyhoo, excellent overall tones to this shot. I know how hard it is to get the right balance with late-day sun and you really nailed it here.. Well done! Regards, Doug P.S. CGBG's is long gone, unfortunately.. It's too expensive for anything punk-related in Manhattan now! P.P.S. How DO you get the 'first snow' and 'longest-day-of-the-year' shots here? C'mon, inquiring minds want to know! :)

Default To dcawker: First snow and longest day

The secret of getting snow shots and longest day shots is simple - multiple trips! I went to the Rockies twice last year, and usually I wait until there is an impeccable forecast, then hop in the car and get up there for a few days. Most of my trips are short, only a couple of days there, because I just shoot like mad and then I'm exhausted!
