You are having such a long discussion on who is the best while the person asking the question (Nika) got so bored that he/she has Disabled his or her account in the day following! Funny

Guys, your self-complacency has scared her(him) off hahaha :-).

Cheers,
Dennis

Hi David,

Hahaha, it's all in the learning experience - also for me ;-). Am I that bad with my comments?!

No not yet in the Netherlands. In a week! I'm not sure we have a FEBO... I live in the South and we like the higher-cuisine... I'll get you a picture of a snackbar once I'm there! :-)

Cheers, Dennis

To the list above, I would add two great landscapists Tan; (capthaddock) and Phillip (papagolf21) and of course the incomparable Simon, before he was terminated.
This is how I see it. about 1 percent excellent photographers. About 9 percent serious photographers trying to develop and making and receiving honest critiques. About 90, crap photographers, telling all the other crap photographers that they work is wonderful and receiving the same vacuous and sugary praise in return. Thus 10 per cent real photo club, 90 percent ego massaging and time wasting. This may be cynical, but I don't think it's far from the truth.

A silly game of ego massaging! Thus 10 per cent real photo club, 90 percent ego massaging and time wasting. This may be cynical, but I don't think it's far from the truth. And where do I fit in all this? Certainly not in the top one percent, probably lost somewhere between the the 10 and the 90 percent and unlikely every to escape. help!

Old thread. The list is a joke, my friend Tom (alimo) is better than a 75% of the photographers in the list. I actually think he is one of the few on the site who knows how a camera really functions, and can get it all ready for a shot in 5 secs. Excellence in photography is mostly about having something to say and use the camera to say it best. Just because you tilt a frame, or shot from a screwy angle, then do a B&W conversion does not mean you had somnething to say in the first place. Well, that;s my pompus ass opinion, at least :-).

Kevin, I Don't know where you stand in the excellence hirarchy and i don't care, but your work has been published (along with Eric's), and is available in many bookstores in France. To that i say: Excellent, my friend!

Yes, Tom (Alimo) should be on the list, for his technical mastery, but he posts so rarely now.

Can we change "good" to *influential?* At least who has helped to shape my thinking the most..

Sohrab - sets the benchmark really.

most helpful critiquers (in no particular order):
Darren
Markoci
Homerhomer
Luko
Sohrab - though you have to learn to read between the lines.

Most encouraging:
Furachan, Polonaise
Kevryan
Designsoul
