Salut Sebastien, it seems that did have a wonderful time in Martinique. The imagesw that you brought from there are marvelous. The single island/ rock gives a wonderful serene contrast to the vastity of the blue sea. The cloud formations is a good complement. Is that rock of volcanic origien?

Yes, you're right. Diamond Rock is a small basalt island of volcanic origine (1 million years ago). Most of the Lesser Antilles islands have a volcanic origine and are in a active seismic zone (A small seismic shake woke me up last week in Guadeloupe...). They coincide with the outer edge of the Caribbean plate.
I should have added a note about Diamond Rock (and I'm about to do it): it is a great diving place and some very interesting events happened there. Thanks! Regards, Seb |
