To macondo: bw
You are right, Andrew. I had an urge to make it bw. But after all, it was the end of Kodachrome, and it was the second of my last 6!
Thanks for visiting and your kind comment.

Thanks Fred! And all the best to you and family for the New Year too. Unfortunately I haven't been very active in TE lately. Hope I can correct that this year.

To rigoletto: Nomadic naivete
Hi Deniz,
Thanks for your praise for the photo.
As to your comment on their "nomadic naivete", I surely understand what you mean, but let me point out that these people are not nomadic. Far from...

To kmangwani: Pretty?
Thanks, but 'prettiness' is usually the last objective intended for my photos.
As to the oar, I am afraid I could have easily kept both oars symmetrical t, which would make more attention go to the...

To kmangwani: the left
Thanks for your comment, but that was precisely the aim of the composition: to draw attention to the lady and the boat.
You see, the River Styx is the river of the underground, according to the...

Excellent contrast
Very nice contrast and excellent formal composition.
The highlights were a bit blown though. I wish there was another figure in the distance, or a dog or something to balance the foreground. My...

To sayeed_rahman: f/2
Hi Sayeed,
It is not the super-expensive 28mm f/1.4 to which you refer. I do not afford such a lens. This one is a manual focus 28mm f/2 Nikkor AIS lens.
Thanks for stopping by.
