Hi Izzet. Beautiful and very striking composition. I didn't realise that tulips grew so profoundly in a forest setting. My only suggested improvement would be to have used a tripod and got some extra depth of field as so little of the image is in sharp focus. Nevertheless, it's a very eye-catching piece of work. Regards, Paul.

Hi Vitor. Nice composition (1/3rd land and 2/3rds sky - or the other way round - always looks good for me). Really nice colours and sharpness and the exposure is perfect. However, in my opinion, it's shame that there isn't a strong focal point (a figure or a piece of driftwood or a rock) in the foreground. Nice piece of work anyway. Regards, Paul

Hi David. I actually quite like the strong shades and deep shadows. I might have taken this from a slightly higher viewpoint to include more of the bales disappearing into the distance. Still, a really nice "available light" shot. So, do you live / work in Herts? I'm only across the border into North Essex...!

Hi Animesh. Phenominal image. Love the reflections on the spectacles and the diagonal line of the roof is continued on the right by the line created by the edge of the field. Grain is good. Who says we must have plastcky smooth grain and noise-free tones and colours..!!?? Excellent piece of work. Paul.

Hi Bulent. Excellent photo. It works on many levels - historically to aesthetically. It would have been easy to crop in closer but the huge expanse is the story itself. Maybe a darker (more silhouetted) B&W or sepia version? I might have a go at a WS if that's okay. See what you think. Kind regards, Paul.

Hi Izzet. Excellent scene, very well captured. It feels warm and touristy without being tacky. However, I feel that it might have been better to get closer and omit the girl in the white dress as the 'story' (for me) is the dynamic between the painter and his model. However, that's being picky. This is a lovely photo and thanks for sharing. Paul.

Hi Simon. Timeless image extremely well captured. The off-centre placement of the subject gives it room to breathe. You've done a really good scan but the contrast is a fraction low. This is quite pleasing in itself and gives a slightly 'dusty' feel to the scene. However, it might be worth seeing what happens with slightly higher contrast. Regards, Paul.

Hi Ben. I love these little moments frozen in time. It's almost not important what is 'really' going on as the viewer's mind can make up the stories... Your choice of gear is first rate. I gave up on the M6 as it was just such a pain to change film and, although I haven't big hands, I found it just too fiddly. The D300 is big enough without being too big and a quick 'standard' lens certainly gives your shot the perspective of actually 'being there'. I also think this would make a good B&W study... Regards, Paul.

Hi Stephen. I really like the rocks in the foreground and the pink/purple sky. Great sharpness and depth throughout. Definitely magazine quality. Regards, Paul.

Hi Fusun. It's a horrible thing to contemplate but the reality is that if you can see your photo and read your note - the future probably is bright. As for those who can't...... Here we are in the 21st century and, despite the utter lack of any form of proof of existence of any 'higher being', 'god' call it what you will, the world is largely governed by and divided by religion. When it isn't religion making mischief, the world's politicians do their damndest to protect their own (seldom their people's) interests. How much foreign aid is spent on feeding the poor compared to arming despotic regimes? Anyway, enough of my rants. A very beautiful and thought provoling post - we just need a revolution to give the power back to the people! Paul x
