Photographer’s Note

Сейчас, когда мы празднуем День Победы и готовимся к завтрашнему Дню Матери, я бы хотел поместить здесь какой-нибудь снимок с цветами. Но весна по-настоящему только началась, и цветов пока в городе мало. В тот день я смог найти только нераспустившийся первоцвет весенний (слева) в купе с цветущими одуванчиками. И тот и другой - наши городские первоцветы и, пожалуй, самые распространенные травянистые растения.

Одуванчик лекарственный (Taraxacum officinale) - травянистое многолетнее растение семейства Астровые (Compositae). Его можно найти во всех районах с умеренным климатом, на лугах, около дорог, по берегам водоемов и в других местах с увлажненной почвой. Одуванчик считается сорняком, но в тоже время и полезным лекарственным и пищевым растением. Это практически повсеместно распространенное растение знают все по его желтым соцветиям, которые превращаются в шарообразные головки со снабженными серебристыми парашютиками семенами, которые легко разносятся ветром. Зараз, коли ми святкуємо День Перемоги та готуємося до завтрашнього Дня Матері, я б хотів помістити тут якийсь знімок з квітами. Але весна по-справжньому тільки почалася, і квітів поки що в місті мало. У той день я зміг знайти первоцвіт весняний, що ще не розпустився (ліворуч), у купі із квітучими кульбабами. І той і інший - наші міські первоцвіти та, мабуть, найпоширеніші трав'янисті рослини.

Кульбаба лікарська (Taraxacum officinale) - трав'яниста багаторічна рослина сімейства Айстрових (Compositae). Його можна знайти у всіх районах з помірним кліматом, на лугах, біля доріг, по берегах водойм та в інших місцях зі зволоженим ґрунтом. Кульбаба вважається бур'яном, але в те же час і корисною лікарською та харчовою рослиною. Цю практично повсюдно розповсюджену рослину знають усі по її жовтих суцвіттях, які перетворюються в кулясті голівки зі спорядженим сріблистими парашутиками насінням, яке легко розноситься вітром. A nice idea to photograph this humble plant which is often despised , disliked and treated as a weed and a nuisance!

Hi Sergiy, Original and universal photo showing how amazing nature is to fill any small crevice with life. It is common on the sandstones here in Australia too to see a plant emerge from what looks like an unsuitable environment. Good diagonal and colours. TFS. Murray.

we can find this plant in my hometown too, it is very resistent. I liked the way you show the plant and its hard life. the diagonal lines are very interesting with the flower in the middle, perfect framing and light. well done, full of poetry.

A very good light on this photograph full with symbol. We note here that nature always takes again its rights. I like much contrasts and the good clearness of the image. I will have preferred a framing more brought closer with less concrete, but it is my opinion Nevertheless good glance and thank you for the Sergiy note.

Hi Sergiy,
very nice composition. I like the contrast of colorful flowers with the gray concrete.
It reminds me very much about Ireland. Here is rains so much that plants grow everywhere they can.
So it is quite common to see something growing on a roof. But also Ireland is full of various walls and stones and they are always covered with some plants which seem to use every inch of the soil available for them.

Hello Sergiy,
I like this, not the most beautiful shot, but it certainly show the life in the most unexpected place and just how life will survived in the most imposssible place. That why in many of my photos I show plants and or little flower in the most unlikely place like the desert. Though to make this composition more interesting, I would have cropped 1/4 of the image on the right, it will cut down much of the negative space as well as making the dandilion larger and more prominent.

Hello Sergiy, We see these type of examples everywhere, I am always amazed that plants can survive in conditions that are not ideal. On my last trip to Italy my cousin cooked some of these dandelions and we ate them, I was surprised they tasted very nice.
A good idea and well realised, excellent quality image.
