Photographer's Note
This is a wider view of a street corner I have shown you before. This view includes houses on the Suikerrui visible both left and right, with the old style houses of the Kaasstraat in the middle. And the girl statue jumping out of the shadows!
---
The statue is on the corner of a 19th century style building on the Suikerrui. It's probably something allegorical. My guess is the lady represent the river and the wealth it brings to our port city. You can see the boat she's standing on. I don't know her name, though, as we haven't been properly introduced.

Hello Benny,
The light and shadow contrasts are well handled and the star of the show perfectly illuminated. Excellent rendering of the colours and the architectural detail.

Hi Benny again
The time was perfect to have the green statue coming out of the dark and saying hello to the many windows in the sunlight
Take care

Dag Benny

Hi Benny,
Well seen these contrasts of light and the presentation with the statue with dark shadows as BG, nice facade on the right side, tfs.

Hi Benny
The popped patina in particular is fabulous and a feat to the eye - what a sight for us to enjoy and you have great viewpoint for this amazing urban scene. A standout shot with priceless detail and wonderful colour contrast!! Congrats
Enjoyed the story too!

Hello Benny,
I have never seen shadows used so effectively!
From this fine composition, the statue definitely appears to be emerging, to wave, or blow kisses, to someone behind the windows of the sunlit houses opposite.
It is a very competent, enjoyable photograph.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Benny
looking at your gallery, I've chosen this one because of the sculpture jumping out of the shadows - as you say. These building fronts aren't as ornate as the other ones I commented on - but perhaps they're also more realistic.
gotta say, cool visual with the shadows and the curve in the bg. sweet composition
cheers
