Photographer's Note

We reached the small village of Minnanthu shortly before noon, and this was to be the sixth major stop of Day 2 in the Bagan Tour, mainly for the Leimyethna Temple and Monastery. Most of the architecture is to be found immediately north of the village, out on the southern plain. I have shown you the reservoir, completely dry at my visit; and just to the north of it, to the east, may be seen this grouping of three shrines. The most northerly of the two share the same plinth, and are reached by a set of stairs. The third sits at a lower level on its own base; but together, the three give the impression of being of the same height. "It is life's illusions, I recall..." Welcome to 2017.
