San Francisco Flatiron I
900 Pixel Beta Version
We fly to the west-coast of the USA for the next Flatiron. I must confess than when we visited San Francisco Ì didn’t focus on flatiron and discovered by preparing this series I missed some famous one.
I hope to correct this and complete the series in the summer 2017.
I couldn’t find much information about this in my opinion beautiful modern flatiron. It is one year older than the Esplanada skyscraper in Toronto but has a far more contemporary design.
You can find this condominium at the corner of Market Street and Pine Street.
388 Market Street/One Pine Street is an exceptional 26-story mixed-use red granite tower that rises from a triangular base on the north side of Market Street in downtown San Francisco. The award-winning design is by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill. The building is a 24-story, 94 m (308 ft) mixed-use flatiron skyscraper, completed in 1987.

Hello Rob, another example on your series about Flatirons. But this picture has a fantastic eyes illusion effect when scrolling on my screen, and a fine sight from street level up. Superb outcome.
Enjoy a nice weekend,

A modern flatiron, a true confection of steel and glass. Captured from the ideal angle under a pleasing ambient light. Well farmed to encompass the busy street scene below.

Een mooie moderne versie van een Flatiron. Je was er in ieder geval onderbewust al meer mee bezig dan ik, want ik heb al die Flatirons helemaal gemist. Deze glazen gevel geeft ook nog een mooie spiegeling.

Bonjour, cher ami Rob,
Le cadrage est parfait pour valoriser cet immeuble aux formes audacieuses et jolies.
Une forme de retour en arrière avec du modernisme en plus.

You so fascinating photo studies and this on Flatiron buildings is so cool. To be honest, I d aware of the most iconic one so it's brilliant to learn of these very cool buildings through your unique architectural style. Very nicely done

This building has the advantage of also offering many chances of capturing fine reflections. I like that so much street-life is included, but the main asset of this photo is probably that you managed to capture all of it, even with a fairly good margin at the top. ;-)

I have certainly learned much about Flatirons!
I had no idea that there were so many!
This is an excellent example, as you note, very contemporary.
It's patterns and reflections play fun games with its shape, which towers impressively skywards! It also has great precedence in its forward position of three in the line of sky scrapers.
A very well exposed photograph.
Have a lovely w/e,

The reflections on the windows are assets to the composition. The point of view is showing the details of the architecture of the San Francisco flatiron building. The light has a good effect on the colours. Have a nice day.

J'ai comme l’impression que tu as fait le tour du monde avec pour mission de photographier les immeubles avec forme triangulaire. Celui-ci est magnifique et semble le plus moderne de tous.

I never knew that there was a modern Flatiron like this in San Francisco. They have some very innovative architecture there. I like that this facade, with so many large windows, can capture a lot of reflections. Your series on different Flatirons in different cities is a fun one.

Modern design but the same idea, excellent photo taken from a very good POV to show us the height and slenderness of the building

It looks like a modern version of a building of my city, called "Panorama"! The framing is very nice to show it, and I like the reflections on the windows, making the image much more attractive! Excellent light and colors! Beautiful job!

I didn't remember this building, anyway I didn't walk so much inside this area of the town. interesting effects created by reflections of the other building, looks like an hologram. TFS.
