Nome estrangeiro, do jeito que brasileiro gosta. Palavra de origem francesa que significa flamejante, em virtude da acentuada colorao de suas flores. Esta rvore nativa da costa leste da frica, de Madagascar e de ilhas do Oceano ndico. O Flamboyant foi introduzido no Brasil, no incio do sculo XIX, por D. Joo VI, rei portugus. Esta espcie adaptou-se to bem ao clima e ao solo brasileiros, que chegamos a pensar que seja mais uma rvore nativa, e, tambm conhecida popularmente pelo nome de Flor-do-Paraso. A florao ocorre nos meses de outubro a dezembro. Nome cientfico: Delonix regia, da famlia Leguminosae, a mesma do Pau-Brasil. Talvez, a esteja a explicao para a excelente adaptao nestes trpicos.
Burle Max, o autor do plano paisagstico de Braslia, ao elaborar o seu projeto, estabeleceu como meta que a cidade deveria ficar florida o ano inteiro, e para tanto, foram importadas, de vrios estados brasileiros, rvores com diferentes pocas de florao, que juntas com as rvores nativas do cerrado, oferecem este espetculo natural durante o ano inteiro. Foreign name, of the way that Brazilian likes. Its a word french that it means flaming, because the accented coloration of its flowers indeed. This tree is native from the Africa east coast, Madagascar and islands of the Ocean Indian. The Flamboyant was introduced in Brazil, in early century XIX, by D. Joo VI, Portuguese king. This species was adapted so well in the brazilian climate and the ground, and the most people think that it is plus a native tree, and, also it is known popularly by the name of Paradises Flower. The budding occurs from October to December. Scientific name: Delonix regia, from of the family Leguminosae, the same family of Brazil-Wood. Perhaps, it is the explanation for the excellent adaptation in these tropics there.
Burle Max, the author of the plans gardens of Brasilia, when elaborating its project, established as goal that the city would have to be flowery the entire year, and for in such a way, they had been mattered, from several brazilian states, trees with different times of budding, that together with the native trees from the savana, then all trees offer this natural spectacle during the entire year.
