Photographer's Note

I think we all have heard about how some large rivers get their start from melting glaciers trickling down the mountain. Here in Kosciusko National Park, near the highest point in Australia, I could see the phenomenom in person. Around me were snow fields melting into small streams of crisp, clear water which gradually increased in size and flow further down the mountain.
