Photographer's Note

I wanted to show the thatched roofs of the houses along the recreation of Leyden Street at Plimoth Plantation. But even that shot was overrun by the crowd of visitors, who look out of place with their 21st century attires.

The actual Leyden Street is in Plymouth. It was originally named First Street, afterward in the Records called Great and Broad Street. It was named Leyden Street in 1823, also known as Leiden Street or The Street. It was created in 1620 by the Pilgrims, and claims to be the oldest continuously inhabited street in the thirteen colonies of British North America.
