Photographer's Note

Taken in the early morning when the day was still cold and misty. One of the main features of Vang Vieng village town is a long unused airstrip parallel to Nam Song river and the main road that runs through the town.

It was code named "Lima Site 6" used by CIA Air America's planes from 1960 till 1974 during the Vietnam War. Nowadays this huge open space serves many purposes such as being pick-up and bus stop-terminal, as football playing field, place for social gathering and local fairs etc etc. Actually it's a big centre stage full of activities and interesting to watch really.

Hopefully that guy will give some ideas as to how vast the airstrip is and he could wait for the plane until the cows come home.......
