Photographer's Note

Ravda is a Bulgarian village and seaside resort on the Black Sea near Burgas and 4 km from Nesebar. There are several big hotels in Ravda and many private rooms and small family hotels, as well as a great number of restaurants and disco clubs.
Ravda has clean air and water because the resort is far from the big cities and industrial zones.
There are many legends that tell the story of how the village was founded and how it got its name. One legend tells that centuries ago shepherds settled in the region and the place was named after one of them - Ravadin. Another legend says that long time ago these lands belonged to a bad landowner who used to beat his workers with a stick called ravdas.
