Photographer's Note

Preah Vihear was a Khmer site that Polpot adopted as a hilltop stronghold. It is some 1800m high with a very steep ascent. Apparently, the road up has only recently been paved (from the Cambodian side). It's quite difficult to reach from the Cambodian side due to the rudimentary road systems and mud craters. An approaching rain cell adds to this scene although the color range was very difficult for the camera to capture. Canon 20 D w/ 12-24mm. Set at 12mm
