Great mkamionka 2018-10-15 11:51

Hi John,
I love it!
The same and yet so different.
That is why it is ok to copy the concepts because it is impossible to "enter the same river twice". We are traveling here in space and in time.

You have clearly perfected the composition. Your curve of the stairs is more sigmoidal. It is for me the highlight of your composition. I didn't have my wide angle lens there yet. You have also better placed the lamps, I have truncated one of them which was not optimal.

Your photo has a completely different mood. I like the light which I had a bit more. Although I did use pseudo HDR processing to enhance the effect. Did you use a tobacco filter? It has a feeling like that a bit, or is it just the effect of the clouds?

We both have clouds which is quite rare in Santa Monica but different type.

I will see if I can process you photo differently.

Most importantly: Thank you so much for your kind words.
I had various periods in my photographic life: at the moment it is something very important for me but I have no time to take really good photos. Now I am more focused on sharing places, documenting Sunday family walks.
Thank you very much!

Default To mkamionka: Hi M

No filters, just a uv. Yes the clouds were difusing the sun, thus no shadows.
